Key Points:
- Google’s AI assistant Gemini may soon offer multiple voice options for users.
- The Gemini app is now available in India, along with multilingual support for nine Indian languages.
- Messaging app compatibility for Gemini has expanded to most Android devices with 6GB or more RAM.
Multiple Voices for Gemini
While Google Assistant currently allows users to choose from various voice options, Gemini currently lacks this functionality. However, a recent discovery in the latest beta version of the Google app suggests that voice selection for Gemini might be on the horizon. The feature appears under “Voice settings” and mentions two new voices named Ruby and River.
Gemini Expands to India
Google recently announced the expansion of the Gemini app to India, a market with a strong mobile-first culture. The app now supports English and nine additional Indian languages, including Hindi, Bengali, and Tamil. This expansion also includes the powerful Gemini Advanced features powered by the 1.5 Pro model.
Gemini Now Accessible on More Android Devices
Previously, using Gemini in Google Messages was limited to specific Pixel and Samsung devices. Google has relaxed this requirement, making Gemini accessible on most Android devices with 6GB of RAM or higher, provided they meet other criteria like having the latest Google Messages app and RCS chats enabled.
