Microsoft eyes Samsung for AI boost

Gaming has become the latest trend for AI leadership, and tech companies are realizing the need for partnerships. However, the core dominant business of memory solutions (Samsung ranks among high-performance memory solutions) is in high demand. They have already subcontracted NVIDIA to make AI processors (latest generation) and now Microsoft is also looking for the same relationship.

With Microsoft’s top management and Samsung’s semiconductor leader scheduled to meet next month, Samsung’s Samud is expected to invest $2 billion in Samsung’s foundries, which could be deployed in making AI chips with Microsoft. For example, Samsung’s Galaxy AI collection, which is being used by 100 million devices, may develop a plan for integration of their software AI services, making the integration more deep and effective.

Microsoft is going further and inviting some other South Korean technology giants like SK Hynix, LG Electronics and SK Telecom. This is a reflection of Microsoft’s strong belief in the importance of such AI partnerships, as evidenced by the fact that it does not engage in these types of partnerships frequently. The application of microelectronics by Samsung company in the field of AI and the software knowledge of Microsoft can lead to the dominance of the AI market, which can be a serious competitor in the market for AI.
