Google is preparing a new feature called profiles for the Messaging app, which will provide better recognition of someone sending or receiving messages. However, it’s still a mystery whether the profiles are an RCS feature or something that Google Messages is managing itself.
As per the details, this upcoming Profiles feature will allow Google Messages users to set names and pictures so that people can recognize them easily, even after your contact is not saved on their phones. Notably, Profile names and photos will appear at the top of conversations.
The Google Messages new feature is currently in the beta phase with version 20231106_01_RC00 and it describes the simple ability to choose your profile name and picture.
