Samsung Edge Panel is an exclusive One UI feature that allows users to easily access their favorite apps, contacts, live messages, photos, and more through different panels. With the release of the One UI 5.0 beta update, the company brings improvements to the edge panel feature to enhance it.
The Edge Panel feature offers multiple panels such as Apps, Contacts, Tasks, Tools, Edge People, People, Reminders, Clipboard, and more. However, you can also add other panels by downloading them from the Galaxy Store.

One UI 5.0 Edge Panel
Samsung has launched the One UI 5.0 beta program for its most prominent flagships – Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22 Plus, and Galaxy S22 Ultra. Currently, this beta update is available in limited markets and will soon be expanded to all eligible countries.
Samsung has enhanced the edge panel feature with the latest One UI 5.0 beta update. Earlier the app name was not visible in the app’s edge panel which was inconvenient but now with One UI 5, you can turn on a new function and see the app name under the app’s icon.
One UI 5.0 beta brings a new option called Show App Name, which lets users see the name of the app under their icon on the home screen. This feature provides a better experience as now we can easily open the app by looking at the name of the app in the edge panel, now we don’t have to get confused in the icons.
How to enable Edge Panels?
First of all, open your smartphone’s Settings, then tap on the Display option, scroll down and tap on the Edge Panels option. Turn on the toggle to enable it. You can also customize the edge panel with panel and handle options.
How to enable the Show app name option?
You can easily enable the show app name function on the edge panel. First of all, you need to add the Apps edge panel through your smartphone’s settings. Now, open the Edge panel by swiping up, then tap on the Edit option at the bottom of the Apps edge panel.
After clicking on the menu option (three vertical dots) in the upper right corner, the Apps edge panel settings window appears. Here you get to show the app name function, enable it and it’s done.
