Galaxy Watch 7 certification hints at charging confusion

Key Points:

  • Conflicting Certifications: New Galaxy Watch 7 certifications reveal a discrepancy in charging speeds.
  • 15W vs 10W: FCC suggests 15W charging, while China’s 3C certification lists 10W.
  • Optional Power Up?: 15W charger might be an extra purchase, with 10W included in the box.

Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event promises a plethora of exciting devices, including two new smartwatches: the Galaxy Watch 7 and Watch Ultra. As the event nears, certifications for these wearables are trickling in, but with a curious twist.

A recent China Compulsory Certification (3C) for the Galaxy Watch 7 seemingly contradicts information gleaned from the FCC certification. The FCC documents listed the watch as supporting 15W fast charging, while the 3C testing utilized a 10W charger.

This discrepancy doesn’t necessarily indicate an error. It’s more likely that Samsung might offer a higher-wattage charger as an optional purchase. The base package could include the more standard 10W charger, similar to past Galaxy Watch models.

Unfortunately, the official charging situation will remain a mystery until Samsung unveils the Watch 7 and Watch Ultra at the Unpacked event. Until then, the wait continues for smartwatch enthusiasts eager to learn more about these new wearables.
